Autism Home Support Services (AHSS) is sharing the news

of valuable seminars.

King, LCSW, an adult with Asperger's and father of

children on the spectrum about his workshops on " Autism Spectrum in the

Classroom " on September 14 and 28, 2011 and also a September 22 seminar on

Succeeding in the Real World.

Barbara Newman, Director of Church Services in the

Christian Learning Network, will speak on " Opening Doors through Spiritual

Education for Special-Needs Children and Youth " on October 8, 2011.

Working As A Team (Sept. 14, 2011)

a.. We'll start by learning the strategy to establish

what we're going to do and how we're going to do it so the results are win win.

b.. We'll then focus heavily on developing skills for

Self-Advocacy. A child who won't ask for help or accept it when it's given won't

function as part of a team. So let's get him/her on board.

Keep Moving Forward (Sept. 28, 2011)

a.. Teach your child/student to hear the word " NO "

without melting down or feeling rejected

b.. Learn a simple strategy for preventing yourself

from becoming overloaded

c.. Learn how to see the real successes in every fall

so you can build on them and become ever better as a result.

Per Session is only $25 per parent or teacher per

session ($20 each with both parents attending each session).

Child Care Available at $5 per child for the entire 90

minute session plus a snack.
