Guest guest
, Hours and Hours on this is and for what -- " it's still a mess " is so true. I have a different story, but still as frustrating. At least you have a hospital in your county. I haven't found one in ours yet -- we'll have to go to a neighboring county for any hospital-related needs. And this is good? I wonder if our governor and his employees have to travel to a different county to get medical care? In a message dated 7/24/2011 2:35:43 P.M. I have followed up with doctors, representatives at Aetna and IlliniCare. I have shared all the information I recieved with other parents in our county. Well, my daughter got her letter. It said we had until July 30th to sign up with our preferred provider and PCP. I called on July 18th to sign up. They had FINALLY signed up a hospital in our county!!!! No sense signing up before then right?! When I called on the 18th, I was told that the state had already signed me up for a provider AND a PCP. Luckily they had signed me up with the provider I wanted = Aetna Better Health - BUT had assigned me another doctor I had never heard of, and had no idea where the office was. I called Ellen - she is such a sweetheart!! - she gave me Hall's #. I called her immediately. She said she was able to change the PCP. I sure hope so, because I have now gotten my daughter's card, and it still has the originally assigned PCP on it. I left a message for Monday morning. I sure hope this can be resolved QUICKLY!!! My daughter needs to see neruologist ASAP, and has to be referred by her PCP - which one???? Things better get settled soon. All services start August 1 for my daughter. I still need the PCP to fill out the prior approval for several of her meds, but can't do that until there is a PCP - and I am NOT going to go thru her history with a new doctor for 30 days, and then change back to her current when she is finally on the card for her PCP!?!?! I have spent hours a week on this and WHY - when it is still a MESS!! Thanks for letting me vent! Guest guest
Just got back from the dentist we found, five minutes from Noah's house, who happens to take Medicaid...when things seem too good to be true...they probably are... First of all, we waited an hour and a half. The dentist (Dr. Ediden in the Old Orchard Medical building in Skokie) and his associate (can't pronounce or spell his name) talked to their patients at the top of their voices...we heard both conversations...neither of which instilled a lot of confidence in me...They both did not stop talking. Noah saw the associate...he was barely competent in my opinion. He treated Noah respectfully and he was very nice...but chatty, and completely different than the dentist we have used for Noah for almost twenty years...I felt like he had no idea what he was doing...it was both fascinating and frightening... We will be returning to our private pay, dentist for the time being... Ellen Ellen Garber Bronfeld egskb@...
