I'd guess that the reason they are asking for a parent of a kid with autism is

that they are going to discuss Smurks app for kids with autism.

Meyer has been covering disability topics at ABC-7 for some time. Without

those kind of regular features, you would not have much in-depth coverage about

disabilities.  This kind of coverage increases public acceptance of service

dogs, ADA, etc, and informs families about resources in the community.
