Special Night for Special Friends (For Free!)

Rising Star Theatreworks is pleased to invite individuals with special

needs, and their families, to their Final Dress Rehearsal for Oklahoma!

When: Thursday, June 23, 2011

Doors Open at 7:00 p.m.

Rehearsal Begins at 7:30 p.m.

(ends around 9:30 p.m.)

Where: The Arcada Theatre, 105 E. Main Street,

St. , IL

What: Final Dress Rehearsal – Oklahoma!

Rising Star Theatreworks presents the iconic Rodgers & Hammerstein musical

Oklahoma! at the Historic Arcada Theatre in St. . Set

in Western territory in the early 1900s, this classic musical presents the

love story of Curly, the handsome cowboy, and Laurey, a winsome farm girl.

Oklahoma! was the first collaboration between Rodgers and

Hammerstein II. The Pulitzer Prize-winning show features the songs People

will Say We're in Love, Oh! What a Beautiful Morning, and of course, Oklahoma!

The final dress rehearsal will be open to individuals with special needs

and their families at no cost. “It has always been a dream of mine to

involve more people with special needs in theater,†says Jeanne O’Donnell,

co-founder of Rising Star. “I understand that some people are reluctant to

attend events where the audience is supposed to stay quiet and only applaud

at appropriate times.†Through this special invitation, Rising Star is

striving to create an environment where it is okay if an audience member shouts

out during the show or even sings along.

Rising Star Theatreworks is a not-for-profit community theatre group known

for inspiring young people to become involved in theatre and for providing

the community with quality theatre at affordable prices. For more

There is no charge to attend. To reserve tickets for " Special Night for

number of

wheelchair spaces available, so please indicate in your message if anyone

in your party requires a wheelchair space. Tickets will be distributed at

the door the evening of the performance.

(The public performances of Oklahoma! will be on Friday, June 24 at 7:30

p.m.; Saturday, June 25 at 7:30 p.m.;

and Sunday, June 26 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for

students/seniors. Group discounts are available.
