Guest guest
I think many in Illinois have the mistaken notion that it is MUCH better every place else...clearly not the case in SC and other places as well. Though the Ligas case has been resolved in favor of the plaintiffs, as would say, the devil is in the details. Ellen Ellen Garber Bronfeld egskb@... Our waiting list for residential housing is over 10,000. For families like ours, a 28 year old daughter with fairly severe special needs, and a husband who has always been a great provider and hands on father, who now has stage 4 cancer, it is almost impossible. I am the only one able to work and then try my best to care for them and maintain the home and yard in my " spare " time. The only people with disabilities who are receiving housing placement, have no say as to where they will live. They just have to take what ever bed in whatever town becomes available. This makes separating an even tougher issue because of time and travel.
