Guest guest
FYI Ellen Ellen Garber Bronfeld egskb@... Arc Action Alert Call The Governor on Thursday The Arc of Illinois June 20, 2011 Leaders in The Arc: Here we go again! It is my understanding that the Senate will not attempt to restore cuts to disability services when they meet in special session on Wednesday. While this is not the news we wanted to hear, we still have one more option. Because of this, I believe the Governor will sign the new budget shortly. Our final option now is to go directly to Governor Quinn and ask him to restore the cuts to disability services. The Governor has the authority to restore these cuts. We need your advocacy again! ACTION This Thursday, we need you to call, send an email and fax the Governor. Once more, get your friends, co-workers and other advocates to do this as well. Dont let this opportunity pass us by. Get to work! The Governor can stop the cuts! Your message: 1. Restore the $15.456 Million in cuts to critical disability services! 2. Explain how the budget cuts impact you/your loved ones. 3. If community providers are not paid in a timely manner, they cannot possibly maintain services at levels necessary to meet the needs of the people they serve! 4. I support the LIFE Campaign which represents the 220,000 infants, children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families and I am a member of The Arc! Below is the contact information on the Governor and a letter I will fax to the Governor on Thursday. You can also fax your own letter or rewrite my letter as well. Act now! Thank you!
