Hello:

My name is Jim Cassidy. I hope to be able to do respite work for families that

have children or adults with special needs. For the past five years, I have

worked in various capacities with people with disabilities. I have a degree in

Therapeutic Recreation and am a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist

(C.T.R.S).

Currently I am a P.E. teacher at a therapeutic day school in which I plan,

coordinate and implement lesson plans and programs for children with wide

ranging disabilities (i.e.autism, developmental delays, emotional issues, PDD

NOS, and Aspergers).

Prior to being a teacher, I was employed at a local park district planning and

taking children and adults with disabilities on community outings and to planned

group events, special events, and sporting programs.

Overall I truly enjoy working with people with disabilities; it makes me

extremely happy to see people comfortable with themselves and living life to the

fullest. It also makes me proud that I get to help contribute to that, even if

it is in some small way.
