I just spoke with Tomko, HFS Bureau of Managed Care. She was very

pleasant and helpful and reassuring. Bullet points:

for those of us without current medicaid cards, keep the May card -- it should

still be honored, if needed, because the provider can check the computer system

to verify continued eligibility, until the new cards arrive.

Hospitals and PCPs are still having contracts negotiated; so if your closest

hospital is not yet listed, wait .. it might be in the future.

If a needed provider signs up for a plan AFTER you've enrolled in the OTHER

plan, there is a 90-day grace period when plans can be switched.

This was a better day.

We still did not get our card today and I called and they said they were sent

ut on Friday so they will be late. So I hope I get ours soon.

I've been burned by 1-2 days before about getting my son's card..my best

guess...they had unexpected inclement weather that screwed up their

operations....it got dark at night!
