Guest guest Posted July 8, 2011 Report Share Posted July 8, 2011 July 8, 2011 As an advocate in government for my constituents with intellectual disabilities, I would like to invite you to an event I am hosting at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, July 26 at the Highland Park Country Club, 1201 Park Avenue West, Highland Park. The objective is to open lines of communication between parents of children with autism/developmental disabilities and local public officials. I believe that by working together we can find creative solutions to provide more help for these families. We will focus on community involvement, employment and housing. The evening will include a resource fair for parents to learn more about organizations committed to helping those with autism/dd in our community, many created by parents themselves to provide housing, employment and opportunities for their family members. I believe it will be valuable for everyone who attends to learn about the innovative solutions these organizations have implemented. The resource fair begins at 6:00 pm and the forum will start at 7:00 pm. I sincerely hope that you will be able to attend this forum; I know it will be an important step to improve opportunities to those with cognitive disabilities.
