Arc of Illinois Annual Conference Just Two Weeks Away!

Family Support Network Members and Friends. . ..

Every year, I have the great experience of attending The Arc of Illinois Annual

Conference in Lisle, Illinois.

I attend great breakout sessions, get reacquainted with old friends, make new

friends, and get to remember that I am not alone in my advocacy efforts (okay,

it’s hard for me to lose track of that one). None the less, it’s at The Arc

Conference where I have that deep experience of being with people who truly and

deeply understand my passion for my children and my struggles supporting .

It’s at The Arc Conference where I’ve learned strategies for supporting him,

what his rights are, and how I can impact his future.

This year will be especially important because we will be sharing details and

updates on our “LIFE! Fund Critical Services for People with Disabilities

Campaignâ€â€¦ For a truly empowering experience, please join us! It’s just

two weeks away. Please join us.

You can see the brochure and register at

Folks, this is a great opportunity for people with disabilities and relatively

unknown. I have been asked to share information.

If you have trouble making ends meet or have you gone without local phone

service or considered cancelling your existing local phone service to help cut

your monthly costs…

You may be eligible for federally (and charitably) funded programs that greatly

reduce local phone line installation and provide a monthly credit to lower the

cost of ongoing local phone service.

You are eligible if the telephone will be in your name and you participate in

any of the following programs:

· Medicaid

· Food Stamps

· Supplemental Security Income (SSI)

· Low Income Home Energy Assistance (LIHEAP)

· Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF)

· Federal Public Housing

· Free National School Lunch Program (based on family income

eligibility)

To enroll in the Link-Up and Lifeline programs, contact your local phone

company.

· For AT & T call: 1-888-256-5378

· For Frontier call: 1-800-683-9793

· For other companies, find the contact information at:

www.linkupillinois.org

See you in a couple of weeks…?
