Home Based Waiver

For years, I've been trying to get into the Home Based Waiver program;

Yesterday while I was at work, I got a couple of phone calls. Checked my

messages & it was the lady from our local PAS agency desperately trying to get

ahold of me.

I tried to call her back & my phone picked that time to go completely dead

(battery was showing life).

I borrowed a phone & called her back.

She was trying to get in touch with me, because she said that they got word that

became eligible for Home Based, but that the " packet " needed to be prepared

to be sent to Springfield ASAP (which meant within that hr.)

So with a little more talking to her, found out that he's eligible, but will

take up to 6 weeks to find out if he's getting funded....Of course, she won't be

in today or Monday.

Last evening, I was trying to tell my hubby about all that had transpired (he

sort of knows that I've been trying to do the Home Based thing, but has NO CLUE

as to what it is.)

Had a big pow wow over it, as he seems okay with being at home all day &

not being productive. Says " He can't hold a job anyway " " We've already tried

that " . (What was tried was DT, which was horribly wrong for him. I'm wanting to

be able to get him a job coach, so that he can maybe do something he WANTS to

do. My hubby is okay with him maybe getting somebody to teach him music.

Does anybody know if the funds can be used for that? Does it HAVE TO be used in

part for a job. I'd like to incorporate the two somehow, but one of us doesn't

want to put forward much effort in getting things done.

Liz
