Guest guest
Wondering if anyone can answer my question. We have been collecting $250 for rent for my 22 year old daughter for the past 3 years. My daughter had her Redetermination For SSI recently. After reviewing the paperwork I noticed that it states that she does NOT buy food separately from other household members. This is not true. She has paid (debit card) for her own food separately for the past three years. Her food costs average $300 (she is on a medical diet for seizure control) so, it eats up a huge portion of her check. My question is ... would she be able to receive payment to be used for buying food as opposed to paying us rent? I'd really like to not have to charge her rent much longer. I am aware of the SNAP program, but because we charge her rent it is my understanding that she does not qualify for the Link card. Any help would be most appreciated ~ Lori
