NEWS FLASH! First Microboard Receives HCSSA License to Become a Home Health

Congratulations to the Burdeaux Microboard who was notified that their HCSSA

license was approved! This is the first Microboard in Texas to receive a

HCSSA (Home and Community Supported Services Agency) Home Health license.

The HCSSA license is the credential needed to apply for both the CLASS &

MDCP contracts as the Direct Service Provider. Burdeaux says,

“Since the HCSSA licensing is so rigorous, the contracts are not so hard.”

She is working on that paperwork now. Good work, !

MICROBOARD PROVIDER TIPS!

TOP Four Reasons an HCS Provider Application is Denied:

1. You need to have someone with three years full-time PAID experience

DIRECTLY GIVING SERVICE to persons with INTELLECTUAL OR DEVELOPMENTAL

disabilities (listing other kinds of disabilities or just " disabilities "

will get a rejection)

* parenting does not make you eligible.

*Volunteering does not make you eligible.

*A coordinator position does not make you eligible. You must list a Program

Director or Case Manager type position.

2. Double check all signature spots are signed and notarized.

3. Do not forget the criminal history reports for EACH PERSON listed in the

application.

4. On Form 5871, Section 2 - make sure it totals to one hundred percent

(100%). If it does not equal one hundred percent (100%) the appicaltion will

be rejected.
