Guest guest Posted March 5, 2011 Report Share Posted March 5, 2011 I am doing my own tax's with turbo tax. Under the dependent section it asks if I have a disabled dependent. I have never checked this, but wondering if I should be doing so. My daughter is mentally challenged with a low IQ, age 18. It wouldn't be a problem documenting her disability, but she also has to be unable to engage in any substantial gainful activity. She was employed the summer of 2009 through McHenry County Workforce (grant money) but has not qualified since, and has not been able to get a job on her own.
