! Glad to see you still have power! One forecaster around here said the

wind alredy knocked power lines down all over New England. I already

gathered all my flashlights and made sure the batteries were working earlier

this morning.

It started up here about 9:30, but it's not really accumulating where I can

see it because the wind just blows it away.

All I can say is thank god that it isn't hitting us! I like snow,

but not in those amounts! With us living where we do I think we

would be stuck even with our 4X4 It would take the county at least 3-

4 days to come dig us out.

I hope you all fare well during the storm!

You would have to have a snowmobile handy, like friends of my dad's in New

Hampshire have. They say it's as important as having a car up there in the

boonies where he lives, especially with he and his wife now in their late

70's and having to get into town to doctors and drug stores.

Well, you *do* live out in no-man's land, in the wide-open spaces. :)

As I wrote on another list just this morning, somethimes there *is* a big

advantage to living in this crowded city. Just about eveything I need is

within walking distance, including 2 grocery stores, drug stores, stationery

stores, 7-11, and a light rail train out of here. All our doctors except

Henry's asthma doc, our dentist, even the hospital is within 5 blocks. And

our streets have been plowed every few hours. Too bad they plow our car

under a pile of snow each time, but at least the streets are clear for

emergency vehicles and the crazies who decided they just *had* to go out

today.

I caught up on some reading and TV watching (T'was the Night Before

Christmas is on now - one of my favorites that I know by heart), and Ed got

to read and watch his Bronson movie he taped. Pretty much a typical

weekend day around here minus the mall trips. Maybe tomorrow. :) All we have

to do is walk down to light rail and we're there in a half hour. The winds

never lasted as long as they threatened they would, the snow has already

stopped, and we never lost power. Darn! No excuse to open a can of SPAM for

dinner. LOL
