A Day in the Life: Told by the people who are LIVING it

Are you interested in your family member living on their own or with a

friend or roommate? Do you want to learn about creative housing options

that could be pursued even without a lot of state funding?

people who made it possible. Cubbull Inc., a CILA funded microboard helped

move into his own home near family and friends. Get to know the men

who live at Whitehall Place, LLC and those who care about them - hear how

they rolled up their sleeves and make living in the community their priority

.. The presentation will be filled with successful examples and the steps

taken to achieve a " home of their own " as well as an opportunity for teams

to begin planning the steps needed to make THEIR home a reality.

Please join us on Saturday, August 6, 2011 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm at St.

's Cathedral, 1243 N. Church Street, Rockford, IL.

Cost of the workshop is $50 per team and includes lunch.

Registration will be sent out in April

A life changed for the better is practice based evidence.

The Illinois Association of Microboards and atives is intended for

those who want to explore possibilities of alternative services for

themselves or their loved ones. The project assists persons with

disabilities and their families and friends to create non-profit

corporations that allow them to live self-directed lives through the use of

person-centered planning, community supports and resource management.
