Our good friend Georgia Winson has been promoted as Executive Director, The Hope

Institute for Children and Families. Congratulations to Georgia!

As a result, The Hope Institute is seeking a new Chief of Network Services.

Position Description

POSITION: Chief of Network Services

DIVISION: Administration

FLSA STATUS: Exempt

REPORTS TO: Executive Director, Program and Network Development

Position Purpose: Chief of Network Services, The Hope Institute for Children

and Families, is responsible for overseeing autism and network-related

initiatives for The Hope Institute for Children and Families. These initiatives

currently include: The Autism Program Service Network, , Intersect for Ability,

Advancing Futures for Adults with Autism, Illinois Crisis Prevention Network and

Childrens Health Care Partnership.

Required Qualifications:

1. Masters degree with at least 5 years experience in the management of

autism resources and services, dealing at the high level of autism-specific

issues, government relations and/or system development. Doctoral degree

preferred.

2. Experience in clinic or health care setting preferred.

3. Substantial understanding of concepts, practices and procedures of

non-profit, social service, educational and health care sectors.

4. Demonstrated success in working with multiple stakeholder groups on

issues of consensus building, policy formation, and system and network

development.

5. Superior communication skills and professional demeanor, demonstrated

ability to participate in high level discussions and represent Hope Institute in

a variety of settings.

6. Excellent presentation skills, able to represent organizations at high

level meetings and respond to high level requests for information.

7. Ability to handle multiple complex tasks or assignments, consistently

producing high quality work.

8. Able to work with and communicate difficult issues to senior executive.

9. Ability to elicit cooperation and maintain productive working

relationships with internal and external contacts.

Essential Functions:

1.. Develop Hope Institute Network Services to ensure efficient, economical,

and evidence-based services for impact within Hope programs and within the

general field of developmental disabilities, with a targeted focus on services

to persons with Autism Spectrum Disorders and related services.

2.. Provide strategic planning and leadership to existing service networks and

communities of services impacting persons with Autism Spectrum Disorders and

relate disabilities. .

3.. Effectively engage a variety of constituencies including but not limited

to : self advocates, families, allied agencies, agencies working under formal

network affiliations and state and national policy makers.

4.. Identify alternative and augmentative funding streams to support Hope

Institutes network operations. Provide oversight and supervision to the Vice

President of Operations, The Autism Program.

5.. Serve as the liaison on behalf of The Hope Institute to DHS, DCFS,

Illinois Autism Task Force and other agencies or entities as assigned by the

Executive Director of Program and Network Development

6.. Provide appropriate reports to Hope Institute Board of Directors as

requested by the Executive Director of Program and Network Development.

Other Duties

1.. Participate as a member of The Hope Institute Executive Staff.

2.. Participate in regular Executive Staff meetings.

3.. Participate in annual strategic planning.

4.. Other duties as assigned
