Guest guest
Hi all: Just a few more details about Cart and SST. Both have teams throughout the state. Cart actually met monthly prior to SST and now, only meets as needed. SST has been working so well, that since its inception about a year ago, there has only been the need to place one person in a state operated facility for crisis intervention. I am not sure how many individuals were institutionalized for crisis in the past, but it would be interesting to know. Lilia Teninty is responsible for putting the crisis intervention teams into place. It has been considered by all to be a great success and a marked improvement over the Cart process since response time is typically within 48 hours now, and with Cart, which met monthly, there was often a long delay in response to crises. Also, referrals to SST are through PAS Agencies. Families cannot, on their own, request crisis intervention. One would hope that if there was a crisis, families could rely on their PAS Agency caseworker to work with them and make a referral if needed. Ellen Ellen Ellen Garber Bronfeld egskb@...
