Guest guest
I'm back from applying and YES receiving my son's SSI benefits. He was approved on the spot. (and no he has no actual obvious PHYSICAL disability). He receives payment within 10 days. I brought key documentation with me, went actually to the SSA office. It's not difficult IF you go prepared. If I can help answer anyones questions please feel free to contact me offline. Have a great day! Diane S
Guest guest
Doesn't always work with everyone. Know someone who have autism and get denied at SSA. It would be nice to share what you did, but it seem that " nicer people " make better caseworker than people who just takes application like claims and putting them in file. Guest guest
This was probably a PD (Presumptive Disability) decision. The claims rep looks at the medical information and presumes it will be approved. The claims rep puts the case in pay status and begins to pay the applicant BUT the medical records still go down to the DDS unit in Springfield. They review the medical information and then make an OFFICIAL decision. I have only seen ONE PD decision get denied. Guest guest
Presumptive Disability. Â What other important terms that internal SSA office used when making decision or looking at the case? Guest guest
CE = Consultative Examination If you do not provide suffiicient medical information to prove disability, Social Security will send you for a CE - an appointment with one of their doctors. This is usually NOT a good sign because your medical records were not enough to prove disability so they send you to one of theirs - spending not much time with you. AND, remember, their doctors are paid by Social Security.
