Click here Living with Developmental Disabilities While the momentum for creating workplace opportunities for the disabled grows stronger in the United States each day, it is also gaining momentum overseas. One organization with a unique perspective on this is the YAI Network of New York City. This week, host Ray Zardetto speaks with Dr. Levy, YAI’s President and CEO about the philosophy of “inclusion, independence, individualization and productivity” that helped grow YAI to an organization that provides education, healthcare services and employment support to over 20,000 people – or “consumers” as Dr. Levy refers to them – every day. Then, for more of the overseas perspective, Ray will be joined by Josh Rubin, Director, Policy and Planning and Samowicz, Senior Director of Education and Training at YAI to describe a unique agreement that the organization recently concluded with the Kingdom of Jordan to help that country create an infrastructure for aiding its developmentally disabled citizens. Dr. Levy will also discuss YAI’s current initiatives to help place its consumers with New York City area companies, particularly with KPMG, one of the Big Four accounting firms. For that part of the discussion, Ray will be joined by Steve Clemente, KPMG LLP’s Principle in Charge of Operations. Tune in to Disabilities At Work Radio every Wednesday at Noon EST on VoiceAmerica.
