There will be two options for PODD (Pragmatic Organization Dynamic Display)

training in the Chicago area this summer with the help of our sponsors The

Center for Independence through Conductive Education and UCP Infinitec

Southwest. Please see the link for additional information:

http://www.center-for-independence.org/ce_courses.html

There will be a 1-day introductory class on Thursday, July 14th, 2011. We'd

really like to see lots of different people attend like parents, aides,

grandparents, friends, school team members, etc. This class provides the

foundational information about how to use the PODD for people who need to

communicate with the child.

In addition, there will be a 5-day intensive class July 11th - 15th, 2011, that

provides the information needed to select and customize the PODD communication

system. At least one person on the team (sometimes it's even the parent) needs

to attend this intensive training to support the implementation and growth of

this communication system over time.

We are very excited about this opportunity. It's rare to get to attend a class

from the creator of the system, Gayle Porter, so don't miss this opportunity!

Since 2008 when PODD was first introduced into this area there are many success

stories for families with kids that have complex communication needs. I'd be

glad to share some contacts with you if you're interested in hearing more.

Please pass this information on to anyone you think would be interested!
