Maybe you can beat a drum, play the piano, sing a song with a brother. This is a time to allow the song in your heart to " play on " . Family members or friends can assist in the music making. Applications are due soon. This is a very friendly event open to ALL ABILITY levels. Please consider your participation! Pilafas Event Coordinator Hoffman Estates Commission for Disabled Citizens Music Masters contest for musicians with special needs Music Masters is a solo and ensemble contest for musicians with special needs that provides an opportunity to perform before an adjudicator and a limited audience to receive an award. The event, sponsored by the Village of Hoffman Estates Commission for Disabled Citizens, will take place on Saturday, April 9, at the Village Hall, 1900 Hassell Road, with the fi rst events starting at 9 a.m. To be eligible to participate, musicians must have an intellectual disability, a cognitive delay or a development disability. Musicians ages eight years and older may participate, and everyone participating in the event will receive an award. Once entry forms have been submitted, participants will learn via e-mail their specific performance block and time. Sensitivity will be given to minimize the amount of time the performers are on site. An electric piano will be available in each performance room. There is a $10 per performer entry fee, and the deadline for entries is Friday, March 11. For more information, call 847-781-2606.
