FSN Children's Home-Based Support Services Budget Tool

Family Support Network Members and Friends. . ..

Great News and a Tool to Help…

Starting January 1st, 2011, participants in the CHILDREN’s Home-Based Support

Services program have the ability to use up to twice a single month’s spending

allotment in one month. This new flexibility will allow families to budget their

services to meet months of increased need. Summer months are the most obvious

example. The YEARLY allotment remains the same.

Families must budget carefully to not run out of funding before the year ends.

With the help of my husband (the wonderful Mike Cronin), the FSN has developed

a tool to help you budget your funding. You can access it at this link:

Children's HBSSP Budget Minder. Have some fun deliberately entering amounts that

are too high and see the messages you get.

We already have some ideas to enhance it so stay tuned. J Please send me your

suggestions at fsn@....

Other News from the Family Support Network Office…

My dear friend and assistant, , recently resigned to take a full time

position at Bradley University. I am already REALLY missing her. I am in the

process of hiring a new assistant, a lovely young woman named . In the

mean time, please communicate with me at fsn@.... That’s

the e-mail address that lands on my computer.

And this is the most fun news…. and I are going to India Feb. 8th to

23rd. Can you believe that? We are over the top excited. We’ll be visiting

with Peoria friends who are working there. So besides the fact that I can’t

quit talking about it, I want you to know that I will not be in the office from

Feb. 7th to 25th.

Your Memberships and Donations…

Your continued support of the Family Support Network and The Arc of Illinois is

so appreciated. I often think that we are not aggressive enough about asking for

your financial help.

The Family Support Network and The Arc of Illinois are your champions, not only

in Springfield, but also in Washington, D.C. Your memberships and donations are

essential to our success.

Five years ago the Family Support Network formed an “alliance†with the Arc

of Illinois. They have been wonderful partners. A membership in the Family

Support Network also provides you with a membership in The Arc. You may become

a member by clicking on this link:

Or if you prefer to join by credit card use The Arc’s link at:

Thanks and Stay Warm!
