The comments came when Sharon Omand, the manager of a mental health program in New Hamsphire, called her state representative, Harty, to raise concerns about funding cuts to mental health services. Omand said that Harty told her “the world is too populated†with “too many defective people.†Harty went on to explain that he was referring to, “you know the mentally ill, the retarded, people with physical disabilities and drug addictions — the defective people society would be better off without.†“I wish we had a Siberia so we could ship them all off to freeze to death and die and clean up the population,†Harty said, according to Omand’s account. After the comments were publicized during a state House committee meeting this week, Harty told the Concord Monitor that he did make the comments, but said he was “just kidding.†Bedard, PLA Ricky, andra and 's Mom Mothers on a Mission, Inc. 6515 Stanley Avenue #4 Berwyn, IL 60402 708-217-3196 www.mothersonamission.net www.noewait.net " Don't judge me because as far as I know I haven't let you borrow my shoes to walk in. Guest guest
Well maybe he is suffering from Alzheimers. However, if he is not, bottom line is everyone has to anwer to someone bigger than all of us some day. I wish him good luck with that. Hey here's one back at him, maybe all the Medicare dollars shouldn't be wasted on old, ignorant fools who think like him.
