Margie, I think I waited 2 months. I don't know if that's typical. I know they

contact the school for information and DHS for info.

It tooks me 3 months AFTER the Hearing Judge sent his approval to Springfield

for SSI.

This doesn't include random " quality control " which costs additional couple of

week in waiting.

If Springfield approved your case, that means that you are Medically Awarded.

Now the caseworker will do an update to ensure that you are income & asset

eligible. Once Springfield is done, cases either: go back to the field office or

get pulled for an audit by Chicago or Baltimore. (This is a check & balance

system that Springfield is doing what they should be doing).  If you are

certain

that your case is back to the field office, I would call them. They need to do

an update and they need to determine if your adult/child will need a payee (and

a payee interview).  If your case was sent for audit, this can tag 3-4 more

weeks of processing time. SSI says they take 90-120 days to approve or deny a

case.

Everyone is different due to the amount of information Social Security may

need to collect from doctors or other professionals. Because I had current

reports from everyone (within 6 months to one year) no one needed to be

contacted and we received approval within 7 days! ~ Propheter -

and for Sherrie telling me how they make the sausage.
