Hi all:

I think the thread about state vs county taxes is interesting but I must

admit relative ignorance on the topic. I do think it is relevant in some

ways, but we can also move forward and talk about strategies for change.

Laurie has posted some great information on web-based Partners in Policy

Making which could be a start for many families in doing the kind of

community outreach and education that is necessary to change our status from

second class citizens. Bonnie mentioned two outstanding reports, The

Blueprint for System Redesign from the Illinois Council on Developmental

Disabilities and the white paper from the Chicago Community Trust...no time

to post websites right now, but I have the Blueprint for anyone who wants to

review it and I am sure I have the white paper but haven't located it as

yet.
