Guest guest
Liz,  We use Dr. ez at Comprehensive Clinical Services. He is on Highland Avenue in Lombard, across from Yorktown Mall. Not really southern suburbs, but easily accessible from major highways. Dr. ez is very sart and has a good bedside manner. He is also Latino and serves this much underserviced part of the mental health community. Thanks, Liz
Guest guest
Thanks Margie, It's amazing that no one else has recommended anyone. I was told by the pharmacist about a Doctor at Silver Cross Hospital but this is an out patient program. She at first, sounded like she could help me til I told her my son is non-verbal. Told me to go to the Univ of Illinois. There has to be a doctor closer than that. Thanks for the info. Guest guest
My daughter goes to Dr. Najjar at the University of Illinois at Chicago and we live in Plainfield. She took over for Dr. Owley when he left there a few years ago. We travel there once a month or every other month since we could not find anyone closer that came recommended. I don't care for the travel but she gets good care.  Dana ________________________________ From: Liz Youhana <eliz1156@...> IPADDUnite Sent: Sun, February 27, 2011 10:48:09 AM Subject: Re: help finding a psych doc  Thanks Margie, It's amazing that no one else has recommended anyone. I was told by the pharmacist about a Doctor at Silver Cross Hospital but this is an out patient program. She at first, sounded like she could help me til I told her my son is non-verbal. Told me to go to the Univ of Illinois. There has to be a doctor closer than that. Thanks for the info. Guest guest
You are welcome Liz. My son is verbal but non-conversant. But over the two years we have been seeing Dr. ez they have developed a rapport. Guest guest
My brother has had good services from Ron Wuest at the Institute for Personal Development. He has an office in and a couple of other places. They don't take Medicaid, though. My brother's issues tend to be more MI-ish than DD-ish, if that makes any sense, but I know they work with a lot of people with developmental disabilities. My brother continues to do well. He is still unemployed and has adjusted his routine to economize a bit, does some regular chores around the house (with varying degrees of quality). He uses the little netbook we got him all the time. Now I wish we'd gotten him something with a bigger screen, but at the time was worried he'd get frustrated very quickly and just break it. It's been said many times, but I don't post very often, so thank you to all moderators and posters. I get the daily digest for this group and enjoy it very much.
