My son's was administered by the school psychologist in February, 2010 and I

applied for him in May, 2010, he was approved in June, 2010. They will accept

the paperwork from the school, in fact I gave them his whole IEP packet for his

files at SS.

IQ testing for Social Security

My daughter will turn 18 next May and I plan on applying for Social Security for

er after her birthday. Will Social Security accept an IQ test for her which

as administered by her school district as part of her 3 year MDC testing? Who

as to administer the IQ test from Social Security's perspective and what is the

riteria for an IQ test to be considered " recent " ?

Thank you for any help in answering these questions.

To apply for SSI for someone 18 years old or older, SSI prefers the WAIS IQ test

- done during the developmental years of 17 - 22.   The WISC IQ test is the

children's test and, at 18, we are applying for adult benefits - so we would

need the WAIS test.
