We go to Rush Medical Center in the city - their clinic has some excellent

'epileptolygists' (sp?)

who are Neurologists specializing in Epilepsy. My daughter is 22 and has

autism; they've been great to deal with and we often see 'members of the club'

sitting in the waiting room on our appt. days. Our doctor is Dr. Balabanov --

can't say enough good things about her or her clinic nurse Jill Gattone. They

actually return phone calls the same day, sometimes within hours, which I'm told

is unusual. And they always ask me how I'm doing, too, which I really

appreciate.

It's a haul from Schaumburg, though, so maybe others will have better info. Oh,

and they accept Medicaid, too.

Subject: Looking for a new neurologist, any recommendations?

Our daughter is 18 and has " aged out " of Children's Memorial in

Chicago (That's a polite way of saying that they told us she would not

be able to be treated at the hospital as of January first of this year

for anything other than neurology observation) She has Angelman

Syndrome and her seizures are precariously control with medication but

we really need to get her under the care of a neurologist that

understands seizures and also understands special needs patients. Does

anyone have any recommendations for a good neurologist? We live in the

Northwest suburb of Schaumburg.

Thanks,

Penny Schwent
