Guest guest
jeanne, we also make too much for medicaid and the health insuranve through my husbands work is so expensive. given all of that, we applied for the state children's insurance called CHIPS. have you applied for that? we applied not thinking we would get it and we did. it is a major blessing and it was created to help the people like us caught in the middle. i can all but assure that you could qualify for it. if you havent heard of it please email me and i will get you the number to call an get them to send you an application. we were also at the fair today from 12 to 1:30. who did you get the chelation advice from? i know there were a few there but i am familiar with both dr. block and dr. kotsanis from tx. metabolic medicine (they both had booths there). we also do not have alot of money but dr. kotsanis has worked wonders for our child. you are so right about everything being geared towards only that area. we live south of dallas in waxahachie, texas. we too can only hope there could be something closer for us. kelly

Guest guest
-Yes mt children are on CHIPS too! But I am having a real hard time finding Dr's that take it! I talked to Dr. K. And his nurse they seemed real nice but I didn't get the impression that they worked with Children on the CHIP program. He told me just by looking at my son Yesterday that he could tell that he had 2 things going on with him!! Allergies and tonixens from his Vaccations. My husband didn't beleive him but I told him that I knew that the child was that way and that I didn't know what to do about it! They told me to give them a call but that it would be me taking him to them everyday for 10 days . Since I live so far away I really don't think that i can do that !! UGH!!!! I hate living so far out!!!!! But who can afford to live close to DAllas??? Guest guest
we live about 45 minuted away from dr. kotsanis ofiice. how far away do you live? we have the same problem as far as the insurance go. we are on chips and most all of the dan doctors will not accept insurance period but they will provide you with documentation so you can file it with your insurance yourself. we have had all our testing with dr kotsanis and yes, we paid for it out of pocket. we waited until tax refund time before we had his first appointment. needless to say, al his assumptions about jordan were proven to be accurate after seeing the results of his lab tests. jordan has actually been going through treatment since april first and we have completely rid him of his allergy and bowel problems. anything and everything you can think of or hear of as far as symptoms go my son had. we have healed his gut, gotten rid of yeast overgrowth and other gut bugs and completely alleviated all of his allergy symptoms without any treatment except the rotation diet along with being gf/cf/soy free. we have decided to hold off on completely ridding him of responses to allergies and focus on chelating first because the allergies have responded greatly to the diet. we did all testing at once and got it over with, but you can treat one at a time and test one at a time. the supplements were not as expensive as i thought it was going to be but even if they were it would be worth it. i wish your husband would believe dr. k. we were skeptical at first and now our child has improved in all areas of life by atleast 50%. we know it will be more once we remove the heavy metals. i know there is one dr. i have heard alot of people talk about on these list and is supposed to accept some kinds of insurance. you would have to ask someone else for more info but i think the name was dr. rao. good luck. kelly

Guest guest
That's our dr. He told us by looking what he thought was wrong with our son on the first visit too. He was completely correct as proved by testing. All testing was sent to labs, so he had no influence on results. I wish I'd been to this fair! Had too many previous commitments. BTW- Dr. K and his nurse and his entire office are wonderful. Also, I've been told that North Texas has the best resources of DAN! dr's? Not sure if it's true, but basically saying that Waxahachie isn't as far as some travel to get one of these dr's. AND- I live in Burleson, is anyone on list from there? Guest guest
yogi_mydog, Have you investigated whether you qualify for the CHIP program? It is designed for people that make to much for Medicaid but have trouble affording private or group insurance. It does have an income test, but don't assume you don't qualify, check it out. http://www.hhsc.state.tx.us/chip/ <http://www.hhsc.state.tx.us/chip/> J. P. Reirdon Webmaster http://www.autismtreatment.info/ <http://www.autismtreatment.info/> You CAN treat Autism!! Get treatment tips for children with Autism, PDD and Aperger's Syndrome from parents who have successfully helped their children. Resource Fair I just got back from the resource fair and found it to be a little helpful. I found out what I already knew about my son and that he would benefit from Cleation {spelling} but Again no way of paying to have it done... I noticed that all the " programs " are geared to the Dallas Area and that it would be difficut to be able to attend anything since they are all so far away from where we live. Looks like I'm all alone when it comes to helping this child!!! What does a family do with no Insurance? Make to much for medicaid and don't make enough to afford Insurance from husbands Company!!! Well I got some great ideals and I am going to work here at home and try and see if any of it works for him . I need to really do my homework and study on all that I can find...
