Guest guest
thank you for sharing this, I've copied and pasted the Draft Plan into this IPADD posting. I'm so excited to see so much community effort being encouraged in these goals. Money will follow the most creative and meaningful ideas for change, so let's get our thinking caps on. From: Christensen Sent: Friday, January 14, 2011 12:47 PM Subject: Seeking public comment - ICDD state plan It is very important for everyone to read through this Draft State Plan and send your comments to Margie. This is your opportunity to have input on the ICDD's efforts for the next 5 years. Christensen, Advisor Self Advocacy Council of Northern Illinois 815-382-1530 clchristensen100@... www.sacni.org Seeking public comment - ICDD state plan Attached is the draft 5 year state plan that ICDD’s Council approved to release for public comment at our meeting yesterday. Please distribute the request below and the attached draft plan to your networks. Thanks for all you’ve done to get us to this point! The Illinois Council on Developmental Disabilities follows a 5 year state plan in determining where to focus its efforts and resources. The plan is developed by our Council with input from the public to ensure the selected goals and targets address true needs in Illinois. ICDD exists under the federal Developmental Disabilities Act. It states that we cannot provide services directly. ICDD’s mission is to change, (improve!), Illinois systems of service delivery. Bear in mind ICDD’s role to advocate, educate, and push for positive changes as you read our proposed 5 year plan. Please review ICDD’s proposed state plan for the fall of 2011 to the fall of 2015. ICDD would like to hear if you agree with the goals and targets of this plan as outcomes ICDD should strive to achieve for Illinois and its citizens with developmental disabilities. We also want to hear if you have refinements to suggest or feel a specific target should be added or deleted.
