Guest guest
Received this at 12:06 a.m. this morning from a friend who lives in Dupage County (Hinsdale). Any ideas pls post them here because I don't know much specifically about in-patient hospitalizations or other crisis options. If you've had first hand experience with any area hospitals or in-patient psych facilities, please share. This young woman has just returned from a residential school out-of-state; I believe she's the same age as , either 21 or just turned 22. I appreciated your phone message, and I'd love to catch up soon. I haven't been able to get a hold of anyone in the last few weeks. Sorry to ask you for help, G's been pretty agitated. We've been getting some help from G's doctor in Ohio, because he has the most recent blood work on her. Last week, we tried a low dose of Lithium, and she is off the wall again. My husband and G are looking like battered souls, covered in scratches and bruises. She is in her room right now, throwing furniture. Better the furniture than us. It's awful. I've been looking up inpatient psychiatry at various hospitals. Our family doctor, who I love, is on a mission trip, and we are winging this now. My question for now, please, is - is there anyone or any facility that we should steer clear of, anyone or any facility that is good from what you've heard? We are so old. But we have been managing this kind of thing for so many years now. It's just gotten terrible recently again, and we don't know what to do. We just can't physically keep up. Let me know if you have any ideas, thanks.
