Porsche,

Substitute almond, goat, or rice milk for your regular milk. Use goat or

almond or rice cheese to substitute for cheese.. Use goat milk to make an

awesome ice cream. Almond milk makes a great pumpkin pie also.

i think it's just the intial adjustment that's difficult. we first cut out

processed foods, and then lots of meat ... and then we cut out dairy ... i

thought too what on earth would i eat?! i really love cheese ... but found

the change wasn't that big of a deal once you got used to it. we just ate

more fruits and vegetables and whole grains. it is not worth my son's health

to keep on the dairy :)

good luck!

-- CUTTING OUT DAIRY! WHAT'S LEFT TO EAT?????

Ok....everyone says to cut out dairy but for 35 years its all I've

eaten, it is all I know. Iknow to eat fruits and vegatables but can

you send me some resipe's my way???? I haven't a clue how to toatlly

restructure my eating habbit nor how to prepare anything, AND ....I

am an Italian Taurus...I'm an emotional eater and I don't think

anythig (besides death) will every change that...in fact my passion

is food...if it dosen't taste good....I won't eat it. Can anyone make

some recommendations??? I tried at one point in my life, to eat all

health food store foods but couldn't stomach anything I tried so this

has to be real food with lots of flavor (not hot spicey just

flavorful). Thanks so much for your help (in advance) I just don't

konw where else to turn....I really hope I drop this weight in the

process too. Thanks for caring!

Check out vegsource.com and vegetariantimes.com and all recipes.com.

Those all have sections of recipes that are milk free, and vegsource

and vegetarian times has a section on getting started in that kind of

thing. I'd also check notmilk.com. I'm sure they have some

information on going milkfree. Good luck

do a google.com search under vegan and you will find a lot of options listed.

Soy is heavily relied upon though, and that is not very good either.IMO

everything in moderation. If you eat dairy simply try to buy organic all the

time.Try goat products too :)

QUESTION: So goat's milk is not considered dairy?? I know it's not really a

cow or dairy but I figured it's the same principle right??

I've heard (I may be wrong, I'll have to look it up again but...) Goats milk

is closer to human milk compared to cows milk.

I've read this on recomendations for women who can't breastfeed to try for

goats milk formula rather than cows milk formula. It has something to do

with the type of enzyimes which makes it much more workable in a positive

manner in the body... I will look for the information on this again. (Most

of my links are on my laptop which DH had to take to work. I will re-post

with the source.)

Cyn~ if anyone else knows what I'm talking about... help. :)

Ahhhh, but llama milk is even more readily digested! :) From what I recall

reading, the problem woth milk is that after age 5 (?) we lose the natural

ability to digest it and the pasterization process kills the enzymes or whatever

we need to digest it easily. So maybe if you could find a local farmer with a

natural cow and get fresh milk that would be a push in the right direction. I

quit dairy for awhile as I am over 5 yo, but now that am preggers, have

incorporated it agin as it is a quick 8 gms protein. Just gotta stick to

organic!

And there are recipes to substitute an almond milk formula instead of store

brands.

Porsche,

A good filler if you are really hungry is some boiled rice with red salmon

thrown in, or red salmon and tabouli. It gets rid of the hunger and you have no

fats etc.......

Just a thought........

Oh, I've found a great supplement for stress eating. It's a good supplement

for stress whether it makes you ear or not. I love this stuff. It's called

relora. I'm just hoping Pharma and the FDA don't find out about it. <sigh>

I'm sure they'll find some way to get rid of it if they do.
