Hi all

Question for you. I havn't been feeling very good lately. My stomach is upset

all the time but worse in the morning and just before bed. Sometimes in the

morning I even puke it is that bad. But then after I drink something

sweet--juice or a pop it gets better. The times that it is at its worst are

also the times of day that I take my antacids. I have also been having

headaches for about the last week but I think it could easily be allergies as I

have really bad ones and we are in the process of working up our yard which was

previously woods. My stomach feels like heartburn to me. Just a bloated barely

below the ribs pain. I don't want to wear anything tight and evan sometimes

loose clothes drive me crazy. I have some small muslce weakness's, dry itchy

skin and passing lots of gas but not diaherria. Last week I spoke to my

family Dr about it and we switched my heartburn meds from pepcid to nexium.

That has helped some but it is still hurting alot.

so my questions are

I underwent radiation in Feb-March and prior to radiation my pituitary was

fine--do you think this could be caused by a hormonal problem due to radiation?

If so could it be Adrenal Insufficiency?

I go for my first post radiation followup MRI/Endo visit in 3 weeks. Before I

bugged them about upping my visit I was wondering if this seamed like the

classic symptoms for any hormonal problems.

I have cortef 10 mg tablets in my pocession from after my surgery in December.

IF I start feeling very very bad and puking ( I know that is adrenal crisis) I

could take some of these--anyone know how much a stress dose would be if taking

oral meds?

Any and all suggestions would be appreicated.

Currently the only prescriptions I am taking are Allegra and Allegra D for

allergies and Keppra for siezure. Supplements are Multivitamin, B-6 (200mg

daily), Vitamin C (2000 mg daily), calcium 600 mg daily, bromalain (1600mg

daily) and modgicare.

Thanks Sara

Hi Sara; what is commonly thought of as adrenal insufficiency is only

partly true.

As toxin load climbs, physical stressors climb, leading to increased

adrenal output, and sure, maybe they don't keep up that well.

But the cause is toxin load; when that's reduced one finds the

adrenals recover and aren't exhausted at all; they were probably only

limiting out.

So, instead of supporting continued high output of the adrenals, you

can reduce the toxin load. Hi adrenal output only reduces immune

system response anyway; who needs it?

Radiation releases huge amounts of free radicals into the body,

primarily the most damaging, hydroxyl radicals. Anticipating a

negative reaction, many people take cold-extracted whey powder to

increase glutathione levels, and don't get sick from radiation (or

chemo). Hindsight works too; you can still reduce that load in the

same way.

'Nuff said?

You're very low in glutathione precursors, thus the damage. Vitamin C

at double that amount still wouldn't be enough.
