As a person who needs protein because of insulin resistance that is an important question for me. I do eat occassional farm fresh eggs. I eat Bell & chicken, occassional fish (mercury issues)a nd I do eat some pork. As an animal advocate it kills me to eat any flesh at all but as an insulin resistant person, I absolutely need it. When I was a vegetarian, I suffered constantly from anemia. I also eat a lot of beans which I love but in order to make them a complete protein, grains are recommended and I have to stay away from them..so...how do we choose protein that is healthy? Wow! Walmart? I have been using Solgar Whey in the morning with Glucosamine/Chrondroitin liquid, VIBE, cranberry concentrate, cherry concentrate and agave. It doesn't keep me going as long as two eggs but it gets me through till an early lunch. I had no idea Walmart has Whey. What section is it in and what is the qualtiy like? I tried another brand of Whey once and didn't like it at all so I went back to Solgar. Do you know what the brand name is that Walmart carries? Guest guest
I havn't been following all the e's on here lately but I need a lot of protein to help with my nerve regeneration in my eye from surgery. Anyways what I am saying is that my natural foods/vitamin lady told me marine protein is good for nerve regeneration. Now I know I am not going to eat sushi everyday like her books suggested but she gave me a product made by Seagate called marine protein. It works great. I also drink whey protein shakes. I don't know if whey protein would work since you said you had problems with to much diary etc.... I get a big tub from Walmart and it is low in carbs and has 26 grams of protein in each scoop. Hopefully this is helpful for you. I don't sell any of this it is just what I am taking. Guest guest
, when you refer to grains do you mean bread grains or also rice? szukidavis@... wrote: In a message dated 2/8/06 1:54:57 PM Eastern Standard Time, johnmagal@... writes: > Dr Perricone recommends protein at each > meal going as far as to suggest to eat the protein first and the carbos > later, because for him carbos are inflammatory I had to give up my beloved daily oatmeal, and almost all grains because of my arthritis. Grains are inflamatory but I think that carbs like veggies might not be, except for the nightshades.
