Guest guest
This from Life Extension -- High cholesterol levels increase prostate tumor growth A study in the April 1 2005 issue of the Journal of Clinical Investigation finds that a high level of cholesterol in the blood speeds the growth of prostate tumors by " altering chemical signaling patterns " within the cells. Sounds vague enough not to be challenged too closely. They say this explains the studies that show a link between the two, also linked to a Western style diet. Studies also show a lower risk of prostate cancer in men taking drugs that reduce cholesterol. My question is what new risks do those drugs create. Reminds one of the hormone treatment for post-menopausal women that went so awry.
