Kees alerted us to a 24 page mushroom report from UC School of Medicine.

Lacking is any reference to THE most significant report (Jong & Birmingham)

published about Lentinan, an extract from the Shiitake mushroom.

This 32 page report is full of references to the anti-cancer nature of Lentinan.

page 163 - " Miyakoshi and co-workers (1984) indicate that lentinan can inhibit

cancer in humans... "

page 177 - With lentinan " ...Remarkable life span prolongation has been achieved

in patients with advanced and recurrent stomach, colorectal, and breast cancer.

In 1987 lentinan was the eighth top-selling anti-cancer drug in Japan

with a 2.2% share of the market valued at $3 million.
