Guest guest
the typical, average large dairy farms have been routinely feeding their stock with antibiotics for decades!!! why are they suddenly considering it dangerous??? claudia --- Sheri Nakken <vaccineinfo@...> wrote: > > > This week (Feb 13, 2002), the Food and Drug > > Administration announced that Sozinho Farms, > > a California dairy farm operation, agreed to > > pay a $140,000 fine because their cows sold to > > slaughterhouses tested positive for antibiotic > > residues. > > > > Sozinho Farms is prohibited from selling > > meat from their antibiotic-filled bovines, but > > their milk continues to reach supermarkets, and > > ultimately, children's bodies. > > > > What happens when dairy cows are treated > > with antibiotics? Guest guest
Well, I guess this is as good a place as any to give my intro... I'm , 24, married to , 25. We have one daughter, Lydia, 5 months. We are part owners in a dairy farm in upstate NY. I'm very discouraged to see unsupported claims about dairying posted here, as this is NOT what I came here for. I want to learn more about vaccinating/not vaccinating my child, I want to be able to learn this without having my livelihood bashed. Perhaps I'll find this impossible, but I will continue to lurk in hopes of gaining some insight into vaccination. Incidentally, every shipment of milk is tested for antibiotics, and if antibiotics ARE found, the shipment is dumped, the farmer may be fined and/or have his/her milk shipping privledges taken away for a length of time, causing thousands of pounds of milk to be dumped. Animals sold for beef are also tested for antibiotics, and if they are found to have antibioics the farm incurs a fine and is banned from selling livestock for a length of time. At any rate, antibiotics do NOT reach the consumer. If you are interested in reading more about the safety of your dairy products, look here: http://www.acsh.org/publications/reports/milkado.pdf Or, feel free to email me if you'd like to discuss the issue further. in NY SAHM to Lydia Joy 9/17/

Guest guest
Welcome . I'm Sue, in the UK, but I get just as fed up with milk being slagged off all the time, most of the time without foundation, imho. Let's hear it for cheese and butter!!! I wouldn't be without mine, that's for sure. But we do only have organic - more from worry about what's in the ferilisers/pesicides than what's in the cows, IYKWIM! You *will* find good information here, truly. It's a brilliant group. Love, light and peace, Sue > Re: OT: NEW STRAINS OF DISEASE -So what is in > your milk? > > > Well, I guess this is as good a place as any to give my intro... I'm > , 24, married to , 25.
