is it wise? I have no idea, but i don't do dairy because it seems to affect

my unvax'd nursling. But I do eat meat. I am a omnivore, I eat a healthy

diet that is varied. I don't live on meat, but I do eat it occasionally. I

understand I would be healthier if I cut it out, I imagine that there is a

ton of chemicals in not only that but also any nonorganic fruits and

veggies, which means I can join a commune, get rich, or starve, if I was

going to feed my family the way I would want to... What I am saying is if I

was going to go all pure, it would be impossible, we have contaminated the

soil... I do go for organic fruit first, but sometimes the expense is too

much, we also grow our own with others and have to battle whatever pollution

and pesticides they spray in our air. Go figure.

PS. Didn't mean for this to turn into a rant. I probably picture myself a

vegetarian someday, but probably not a vegan as I really miss cheese being

nondairy:)

Hi Maati,

I am a vegetarian and we are raising my daughter mostly vegetarian (my dh eats

chicken now and then and shares with her).

I am biased regarding diet, so, would obviously say don't eat meat, but, really

as long as you have a good, balanced, healthy(mostly) diet, it doesn't matter

too much. I personally believe red meat is a big no-no, but...................

i think this 'eat right diet' depending on your blood

type has a lot of validity. i've been vegetarian for

11 years and the only time i was craving for and ate

meat was when i was pregnant with my now 4-yr old.

when i started to read dr d'adamo's book, this for the

first time made perfect sense to me, cuz my ds is the

'meat eating' blood type, as is hubby who has tried in

the past to turn away from meat but just kept giving

in to his craving eventually. i think there might be a

possibility that if your friend's child is blood type

A (the one who typically thrives on a

vegetarian/vegan diet) he/she might very well not be

happy with the meat in mom's diet.

as to your last question: i personally think it is

always healthier to raise an unvaxed child with a

healthy diet, no matter whether it contains meat or

not, than having to battle the poisons a vaccinated

child has to cope with inside her/his body.

Just out of curiosity I wonder if those who follow the

vegetarian/vegan lifestyle have been keeping up with the latest

scientific research showing it not to be the healthiest lifestyle.

Of particular interest is the research on Soy products.

http://westonaprice.org and http://www.PowerHealth.net have some

rather interesting reading regarding the subject of saturated fats

from animals vs vegetable oils, and " if " they are

correct, alot of what has been promoted as a healthy lifestyle is

really killing the very people most interested in their health.

every child is different, and your friends child may be sensitive to

certain foods, regardless of whether or not the mom eats meat. the mom

would be wise to investigate food sensitivities.

  • 2 weeks later...

I know this is late but you probably know how time flies! I am raising 5

unvaxxed children ranging in ages 14 yo -2 yo. We have the typical American

diet(until recently). The only child I had problems with was my oldest son, my

second child as he was extremely intolerant of any dairy in my diet and I

avoided ALL of it for about a year. He also was intolerant of fructose and all

the other oses, and straight juice, til he was 3(just a few sips of juice would

give him 4-5 diarrhea diapers in one day). The past 2 months I've been able to

find organic foods thru my coop and have found an " goumet-type " grocery store

with grass -fed no antibiotics or artificial hormones but not certified organic

fresh meat not contaminated with nitrites or nitrates. They also have a wide

variety of conventional and organic fresh produce. I am too lazy and

unorganized to be vegan and to do it properly so I'll go for " variety is the

spice " and go organic as much as possible. I find it amazing how healthy my

children seem to be and how quickly they seem to recuperate from colds and

flu...without the use of suppressive meds(prescribed or otc)and without pain

relievers(except in cases of screaming pain and I'll soon have the HP knowledge

and support to deal with those when they happen again). I have bf all 5 of my

children for a least 18 months except my 4th I weaned at 16 mo and the 2 yo is

still night and first morning nursing(and would be more but for suspected health

complications with me). I also drink coffee(have switched to organic, tho!)

Still can't state if it's wise or not...

Laurie>Oh

I was wondering what everyone's dietary lifestyle was like, and if

you feel that an animal-free diet is best for un-vaccinated children,

or if you feel it doesn't matter. Is it wise to consume animal

products while nursing an unvaccinated child?

Hi Laurie! YOu are doing great!

I suggest you take this to the OT list.

I personally think after 51 years of life and being vegetarian and not

vegetarian, that everyone is different and there is NO ONE right way for

all the different bodyt ypes on this planet.

Now, of to the OT4VAX list with this ;-)
