Guest guest
The way it was explained to me is that the virus eats up all the vitamin A in the body and that includes the retina of the eye which just happens to have a storehouse of A. So once the vitamin A is eaten up, light sensitivity follows. I believe there might be some info on this at IAS Immunisation Awareness Society Inc. http://www.ias.org.nz/ Kathleen Vaccine info at http://www.whale.to/vaccines.html VaccineWebsite.com http://www.nccn.net/~wwithin/vaccine.htm Vaccination Information & Choice Network - Vaccine/Vaccination/Immunization Dangers www.vaccinationnews.com New Page 1 The art of medicine consists in amusing the patient while nature cures the disease. ~ Voltaire, French Philosopher (1694-1778) In a message dated 2/2/2002 12:13:32 PM Central Standard Time, sandym@... writes: > Remember the issue with vitamin A? And how vitamin A administered when even malnourished Africans get the measles cuts their death rate in half? (You can read some references on this in this weeks Scandals.) Well, vitamin A effects your eyes. Guest guest
Here is some information from my file. I have a feeling that it probably doesn't matter what form you use for generally healthy children. The following is information from a doc who was working with AUTISTIC children. Does anyone here remember or have a copy of the Mothering vitamin A thread from a few months back? I believe Just Wondering posted some vitamin A info in it. BEGIN WEBSITE QUOTE Why Vitamin A? A Palmitate vs.Cod Liver Oil? Generally, vitamin A is found in natural sources such as liver, milk fat, and cold water fish. This form of vitamin A is more absorbable in the body. It is called the " cis " form of vitamin A, and is generally an oil, or in liquid form at room temperature. It is a perishable item and needs to be checked for purity and age i.e an expiration date. Many items such as skim milk, and baby formula, use vitamin A in the form of A-palmitate. We hypothesize that these children need the lipid soluable form of vitamin A found in liver, kidney, milk fat and cod liver oil. We believe that vitamin A in the natural form, helps rebuild the areas of the brain that affect vision and speech. Make sure that your brand of vitamin a cod liver oil is free from heavy metals and organic phosphates. If you are unsure, please check with the company that makes your brand of cod liver oil. END WEBSITE QUOTE Bottom line, viruses eat up the body's vitamin A. Even the supply that is normally found in the retina of the eye. This is why so many children in third world countries go blind from measles. They start out with a deficiency of A so when a viral disease hits, things go from bad to worse. This is also why light sensitivity can be the measurement of how much vitamin A to give a sick person. If eyes are sensitive to light - more is needed. I know a lady whose two children had measles. She gave them vitamin A. One child only needed a bit while the other as she said, needed " gallons " . Guest guest
The giving of cod liver oil I'm going to guess was kind of a standard for the time as there weren't any so-called multi-vitamin mineral products on the market. I can remember Mom giving all of us a teaspoon of COL every day when we were young. Then as we got close to our teen years the multi- vitamins were on the market and we were using those.
