i don't have any websites bookmarked on this computer,

and my old computer is in storage in the US. a lot of

it i read in newspaper columns in the mainstream

papers in US/UK. the very first time i came across

this (at least the first time it registered somewhere

inside me) was when i traveled to pakistan in 1988. i

got stuck in some village on the way to karachi

because the train had broken down, so i met local

women who had had very little contact with

white-skinned people. they told me that two years

earlier a group of white people had come to the

village in order to 'save' their village from some

'disease' (i think it was measles, but don't quote me

on that one) and it was only young adults who were

vaccinated, no children, no elderly people (you'd

think those groups are more vulnerable to diseases

than young adults). and they said that none of those

who had been vaccinated had become pregnant, something

very unusual in pakistan, it's more usual to have the

first babe arrive 9 months after the wedding.
