Has anyone had problems or difficulty with their local AIDS Service organization

(aso)? Since I complained about one here I get no service from any of them. AIDS

service here is a big conspiracy.

What was you complain about?    I used to be close to some of the people at

my local AIDS foundation, before I was positive I used to volunteer with my

fraturnity at their functions.  I even dated on the employees  for a while.

Ever since I told them I was going on natural medications and gave them a copy

of the book " one minture cure " they have not contacted me nor returned my

calls.  My case worker probably dropped everything as well.  That place is

basically a hospice for people with AIDS.  They pump them full poison and

they're never going to come out of there.  I was hoping this book would help

save many lives but I was wrong.  So yeah, this whole AIDS crap is Bullshit!

Well Don, I agree with you about that. Around here not only are the aso's in

conspiracy with eachother (which sounds similar to what you described) but they

are in financial cronyism as well. Each has their own " territory " and they

protect eachother. The only thing that is changing that now slightly is

reduction in funding due to deficits in the state budget and federal cut backs.

If we have another major recession, as economists are predicting, it will be

interesting to see how competition for funding heats up. An example of this is,

when each organization had its funding reduced the first thing they cut was

service to PWA's.. Case management, Picnics, dinners, gas cards, food pantry, a

lot of it got cancelled. Not one of them took a reduction in pay. Not at all. In

fact all staff got raises. The executive director of one aso gets $95,000. Is

that necessary? These people are not AIDS sensitive or even knowledgeable. They

are business people used to running a corporation and nothing more. They use

PWA's to get more funding which is used to give themselves raises. That is only

one problem. They give benefit and service only to those they want to. HIV

status means nothing.
