Guest guest
I sent an email to a random guy on craigslist since his ad stated that he was positive. I asked him if he was on HIV meds and if so, what was his experience with the drugs thus far. I didn't think I'd get a response, but I did and here's what he said... " I've been positive for almost three years now but only started medication this year. The only reason that I started taking meds is because I caught pneumonia and it made me really sick. Before then, there was no need for meds. Since starting them, I've had nothing but improvements. No harmful side effects, no change in appereance, none of the negative things that you sometimes hear about, Of course everyone responds differently to them but I'm glad that I started. I would say give it a try and see if it's something that you want to do. " While we look for alternative treatments in this group, I think we still need to educate ourselves on both sides of the issue. I'm going to be interviewing alot more people. Emery 's death really hit me hard and I don't want myself or anyone in this group to be scrambling for HIV drugs at the last minute and then find it's too late.
