Guest guest
Not only has the hiv virus been seen and documented, but they know what proteins make up the virus and exactly how it attaches and infects T cells. Yes guys the virus does exist. The current issue of Discover magazine has two articles detailing how research for a cure is progressing. One article mentions using stem cells to alter the surface of T cells in such a way that hiv cannot attach to the cell. It is not clear at this point if that will make it so that other viruses also will not attach to the cell. If no viruses will attach to a T cell then the T cell is useless and will not protect us from any virus. It may still work for bacterial infections but how well is not known.
