Guest guest
News Item: <South African President, Thabo Mbeki, has tried to restrict the use of Nevirapine, a drug which has been shown to significantly reduce mother-to-child transmission of HIV, the virus that causes AIDS. Mr. Mbeki has questioned the link between HIV and AIDS, and his Nevirapine policy has been criticized by AIDS activists, labor unions and church groups.> ** Mbeki, under the protection of false science, may eventually kill more people than Adolph Hitler. He has latched on to the discredited hypothesis of Duesberg who says that HIV is not the cause of AIDS and therefore the HIV treatments are not worth the tremendous expenditure it will take to provide proper drugs to his people. The faulty logic is this: even if Duesberg is right and HIV is not the cause, the new drugs extend life and improve the quality of life for most people with HIV. For the wealthy and middle class in the United States, AIDS has become something of a non-issue in that most of the HIV infected people are able to continue living quasi-normal lives limited by the restrictions of taking pills punctually and consistently. Most, not all. This does not mean AIDS is not spreading in the U.S. In the Black and Hispanic community, it is such a stigma to get AIDS that many still prefer not to be treated or accept another diagnosis and take less effective medicine rather than succumb to the fact that they have AIDS. In this period of total denial, the male often attempts to reproduce in order to carry on his line and thus produced a baby with HIV. There are simply no accurate statistics on AIDS in the Black and Hispanic sections of American society. They don't trust doctors. They don't fill out surveys. Younger 'gay' males, seeing that AIDS has become manageable, increasingly, engage in unsafe sex and the our government prefers not to think about it. Though we see little about it in the newspapers or on the entertaining 6:00 o'clock news, it is spreading, once again. If you see ads in the personal columns about BB; that means bare-backing (having sex without condoms). It is quite the rage. Religious groups fight about use of condoms. Doctors are willing to change cause of death on death certificates to cancer so the family will not be disgraced by the stigma of having had an son or daughter with AIDS. And we are the most advanced country in the world in dealing with this problem. We don't put HIV people in concentration camps (although it was suggested by Helms) and after years of trying to do so, American insurance companies have recognized it as a disease. The basic problem with the Mbeki stance is that the Duesberg thesis right or wrong offers no solution to alleviate the disease. Many do not wish to alleviate the disease. Dr. Matihlde Krim, the head of AMFAR, who controls most of the money that is allotted to AIDS research, announced ten years ago (she must be psychic) that there would be no cure for AIDS. It would be made into a manageable disease like diabetes. It seems odd that a scientist would offer a conclusion before a study was initiated. It seems more about protecting her position of power. Thus, with the Mbeki stance, the Krim corporate non-profit organized killing machine which promotes its own survival above all other things, things are not looking up. Jimmy has often been wrong and appears to be easily fooled. However, it is true that many people will not die of AIDS in Africa because they will die from cholera first. What is called the AIDS cocktail was developed out of the mainstream of corporate funding, and charitable organizations. The first major breakthrough was made in the United States by an Australian doctor (Sonnabend) who practises without a license and is looked at as something of a saint here. When people were dying like flies, he said: treat the symptoms since you don't know the cause. This was an epiphany. Dr. Lo developed the so-called AIDS cocktail without the CDC and AMFAR and the reason it was released so quickly was because it was discovered that a certain ball player was already on it; activists forced the issue. The producers of the poisonous AZT held on to their dominance in the field as long as they could. But no one could compete against the TV charisma of Jordan. (The two people who did the most to move forward the treatment of AIDS in this country were Rock Hudson and Jordan, two people who did it inadvertently because of their own selfish self-interest.) Methodical epidemiologists were able to track the transmission of the syndrome with the same techniques that they used for venereal diseases, thus, debunking a great deal of what the press was reporting and a particularly sensational book which somehow accounted the entire pandemic to one Air Canada steward. The American press has been able to convince the public that this is only a homosexual, Black and Latin problem and since they are not people, it is not a danger in the U.S. This stance is reinforced on Politically Incorrect constantly. " Heterosexual people do not get it. " How do Blacks and Hispanics reproduce if they are not heterosexual? Mbeki, who worries more about the immediate economy than the survival of the true wealth of his nation (people) has fought all of the major new drugs---because, he sees it as a ploy to deplete his nation's financial wealth while boosting stock of the major international pharmaceutical conglomerates. He is right about that.(It seems hard to believe that there are treatments for this mass plague and that people are withholding it because of money and ideology.) And this is the quagmire we are in. Governments make decisions on political expedience, cost, pressure from conglomerates, and religious organizations rather than science. The opinion of scientists seems to be considered irrelevant and annoying. Hence AIDS will be with us for a long time only it will be white-washed and sugar-coated by the media, now owned totally by corporations, which will highlight more profitable and exciting government-sponsored adventures geared to promote their re-election. Guest guest
Hello, Ive always been interested in reading up on news articles about AIDS. Here are a few things I found while reading up on AIDS. I remember reading an article on ABCNEWS a few years back saying that what Africa is experiencing is nothing compared to what China and India will face in the end of this decade. The true devastation of AIDS has not been reached. Just something to think about. In my opinion AIDS has been a blessing for Drug Companies (which I am not happy about). With the push for AIDS research and any possible drug. The Food and Drug Admin. has now weaken their role in approving drugs. Allowing more drugs to come into the market at a faster date. I read this in CNN i think. But I do remember reading a few months back in news, how the FDA has recalled about 4 drugs in the past year or two. Which the article mention was a president. I recently read an article on Africa in news that said with all this attention on AIDS and getting assistance for people in Africa with AIDS. People have forgotten about those people with the curable diseases that are afflicted in Africa. Some only need a pill or two a year to prevent. So this makes it worse. People that can get help aren't, so they die, and those who have AIDS do get help but they still die in the end. I don't think all the money in the world will help the AIDS situation until people and society start to accept the situation and make changes to their cultural beliefs that block common sense and an efficient solution or program. For example, the church condoning the use of condoms and other beliefs like that. I personally think they should spend more money and time on prevention and slowing down the spread of AIDS then actually prolonging the individuals withs AIDS. I'm not suggesting letting them die without help but just trying to limit the amount of people that join them. Guest guest
People that can get help aren't, so they die, and those who have AIDS do get help but they still die in the end. **************** This is the falsehood presented by the media and apparently you believe it. Everyone who gets AIDS does not die of it. Some people become HIV positive and do nothing for their condition and never have a symptom. Many people who get treatment live full and healthy lives. The fear and belief and hopelessness of the situation is spread by the media for sensationalism and perpetuated by governments as a way out. The article you read spoke about choosing between the people who could be easily cured and those with major diseases. Why do they have to choose? Is the world too poor? Must the drug companies make fortunes? (After all, our federal government paid for most of the research.) Governments would rather present lies then solve problems because they have agendas other than the health of their people. It has become all to clear with the fall of Enron and the possible fall of Arthur , our government is willing to pay the creditors and let the people flounder...people who have worked their whole lives for a pension will get nothing but the bill to IBM will be paid. This is because governments have forgotten their role. They are there to serve the people. Instead they see the people as expendable commodity, a nuisance to be dealt with. America seems to have unlimited funds to do what they want when they want to do it but are closing centers for the elderly. That is wrong. First they take care of the elderly and then they dabble in world politics. First they teach the children and if there is enough money, they can play the game of world leaders. Three points. Everyone dies---eventually. Everyone with HIV does not die. That is a rumor. The job of government is to serve the people. Guest guest
very true Love, Live, and Laugh ________________________________ From: Don <donjuan69uni@...> cures for AIDS Sent: Thu, August 5, 2010 12:07:37 PM Subject: AIDS in Africa I was looking up online all the millions upon millions that goes to AIDS in Africa. Oprah, Bono, , Princess all have in the past years have donated millions upon millions yet there's been no progress. All it does is get them cheap medications for a few years until the " funding " runs out then they're forced to stop treatments cold turkey and die. Penn is actually doing a good thing, he's living in Africa and making sure ALL his money get put to good use. Most American crooks have been known to take that money for their own personal use. What those people need is good water and better foods. STOP giving them more toxic meds and start giving them a better life style. If we put water filters and provided water generators at hospitals for clean water and shipped them probiotics and well grown organic fruits and veggies more people will live longer! They go about it the wrong way in thinking medications are the way to beat this virus. It's all very sad.

Guest guest
They'll die of various complications, one thing people don't realize is drugs are addictive to the body. Another thing is that it's all mental as well. I believe it's the drugs that compromise the immune system but our brains even more. > I was looking up online all the > millions upon millions that goes to AIDS in Africa. Oprah, > Bono, , Princess all have in the past > years have donated millions upon millions yet there's been > no progress. All it does is get them cheap medications for > a few years until the " funding " runs out then they're forced > to stop treatments cold turkey and die. Penn is > actually doing a good thing, he's living in Africa and > making sure ALL his money get put to good use. Most > American crooks have been known to take that money for their > own personal use. What those people need is good water and > better foods. STOP giving them more toxic meds and start > giving them a better life style. If we put water filters > and provided water generators at hospitals for clean water > and shipped them probiotics and well grown organic fruits > and veggies more people will live longer! They go about it > the wrong way in thinking medications are the way to > beat this virus. It's all very sad.

Guest guest
Ya, I read an article that in the US only like 10% of donation to cancer non-profits goes towards actual programs (conventional treatment programs at that). I'd rather give donations to people I know personally than to an organization. I exchanged emails with a guy who claimed he was a doctor in Africa treating HIV and malaria with MMS. He said of 5000 people he's seen, most improve and some get totally well. ~ > > > I was looking up online all the > > millions upon millions that goes to AIDS in Africa.
