Guest guest
So sorry you are that sick, I have had a bid of sore throat and swollen gland in neck. I made it a point to sleep at least 10 or more hours a day, I work full time but do not do too much more than that. A bit of house work here and there and food shopping everyother week. I would say that it will not hurt to get plenty of rest and drink lots of fluids. I would suggest gargleing with salt water. There is also oregano oil that you can put under your tongue. I make everyone here at home do it if they get sick and I swer it knocks the infection right out. They also make capsules you can take. Mel Kerri Landress <kerrilandress@...> wrote: Thank you so much to everyone for all the info and support. I was thrilled with the results, but then the next day I became very ill, (high fever, vomiting, SEVERE ear pain) I have been miserable this week with a raging inner ear infection. I have not had one since childhood and I am in terrible pain. I went to my PCP on Wed. and she said it was "one of the worst she had ever seen" put me on Augmentin EX and Vicodin for pain. I have a pulsating pain radiating down my neck, to my left eye, to the back of my head. The pain med only makes it tolerable... I am suffering! I am seeing a specialist ear nose and throat doctor tomorrow. They may have to drain the fluid out... I woder if my WBC are low again... maybe that's why I cannot fight this infection? I have been on the antibiotic for a week and it is NOT working. I am scared because my hearing is gone in my left ear... the eardrum is bulging with infection and fluid. Has anyone gotten sick like this during tx? I have not been to my GI about this. I was doing fine before this happened. Now I'm depressed because I'm tired of feeling bad and I've missed four days of work. My husband is very worried because I am in so much pain and have lost EVEN MORE weight... now I am down to 95 pounds. If I can just get through my twelve more weeks... Guest guest
True, A lot of topic arthritis medications are made with extracts of the hottest peppers. LOL I am trying to think of the brand name. I think it is Caspian or something like that. But I have a friend that runs a plant nursery she has this large pepper plant in front of her store. She picks them and dries them out and makes all kinds of stuff from them. I just dropped a drop of the oil on my hand and burnt me like fire. Guest guest
As I understand it, it means that your virus can't be detected with modern lab equipment, though you, of course, still have the virus. My lab, Quest, says undetectable is less than 50 copies of virus in a minute droplet of blood. (I think its microliters?). My ARNP says that once the virus creeps to undetectable levels, t cells should rise some, in theory, anyway. There is normal viral load testing, and virus is undetectable at less than 400 copies, then the ultrasensitive viral load tests detects way down to 50.Congratulations of the test! I just became undetectable myself and am thrilled. I haven't seen undetectable in about 2 years, though virus stayed around 35,000 on my drug holiday. (I was resistant to all meds, except protease inhibitors, until new experimental drugs came about) Jeffery <scoobyjeff1974@...> wrote: I started Atripla back in March of 2007.My numbers before starting were viral load of 23,200, and CD4 count of 622, CD4 percentage 41%. The reason for starting Atripla was my decision (doctor gave me the choice to start then or wait a little while longer) due to the fact that it seemed my numbers kept falling.Anyhow, I have been on the Atripla for a little over 3 months and I am undetectable. Guest guest
Patient to patient, It's not uncommon for treatment naive (people who've not been through anti-viral therapy) to achieve undetectable viral levels within a matter of weeks of starting treatment. The great news is, it means the medication is working as advertised. The other great news is that it means, as a patient on Atripla, you can enjoy the ease of 1 pill, once daily -- a luxury few of us enjoy. Now that you have achieved undetectable levels, your doctor will continue to monitor your CD4/VL for any change. A detectable level could indicate that your virus has grown resistant to your current regimen. Your doctor will certainly notify you of any concern should your Viral Load begin to rise again. I've heard many people can stay on the same indefinitely with no change, so it's not something you should stress about at present. (I'm nearly 4 years on mine, with no change in Viral Load.) Given your already stellar CD4 count and percentage, don't be shocked if you only see modest or no increase in CD4 at all. Your CD4% is already that of an HIV- (40% is considered normal), and your CD4 absolute count is within range of an HIV- person as well (if maybe a little on the low side). According to http://www.pozireland.org/cd4_counts.htm , in uninfected, healthy individuals, counts should be 400-1200 in men, 500-1600 in women, though I've read elsewhere a 600-1200, etc, so it seems to vary about the range, depending on your source. Basically, you're doing pretty damned good. :-) Please consult your doctor, or one of the many fine doctors on this forum for additional information. Hope this helps!!ChrisOn 6/11/07, 32824 <travis32824@...> wrote: As I understand it, it means that your virus can't be detected with modern lab equipment, though you, of course, still have the virus. I'm still losing my hair, I usually have a very thick head of hair and have maybe a third of it left. I'm worried it won't come back, although I know it probably will. I'm starting to feel better, still tired and work in spurts, but better. YAY I'm 64 and retired, don't have tow ork anymore, so no problem. Guest guest
Oh, Sharon, You did awesome to last a full 8 months! That age factor, it really can make a difference and make it even harder on some of us, but clearly not always impossible. You are tougher than you know.. I am so pleased for you that you have remained undetectable! My prayer is that you.may be one of the lucky ones that remain clear. Good health to you! Guest guest
My Ex just got his results and he came back as -48 and his T-Cells were close to 1000. He said it all changed when he added fish oil to his regimen. He's on Selenuim pills, fish oil, Pau D' Arco Cat's Claw, and Essiac. Sometimes he takes Chaparral. From: Happytype <happytype@...> Subject: Undetectable " cures for AIDS " <cures for AIDS > Date: Wednesday, April 28, 2010, 3:59 AM  Is there anyone here that achieved viral load undetectable without the help of meds? Guest guest
I did and wasn't even taking anything. I mean, NOTHING! Of course my viral load is VERY low so I wouldn't say it is too hard for me to be undetectable. Guest guest
Before that his numbers were in the Hundreds not in the Thousands but his T-Cells were very low. As long as I've known him he's never been on meds. He was diagnosed at the age of 18 he's 25 now and I believe he's only been on meds once very early on. But he's convinced the fish oil is what helped him. Guest guest
There is absolutely no one to my knowledge that has ever gone undetectable through natural methods. I am a VERY firm believer in natural medicine and am very much against taking toxic drugs and MANY MANY people have lowered their viral load and increased their CD4 count though natural methods, but no one has gone to undetectable through natural methods that I know of. In my humble opinion though, it does not matter that you never reach an undetectable viral load, but that you keep it low and your CD4 counts high in order to be healthy. The goal is to stay healthy. Becoming undetectable through natural means is a lovely idea, but not attainable for the average hiv+ person as far as I know. Many people may argue with me on this, but I along with many others have tried EVERYTHING natural under the sun and nothing natural works for that. That being said, I would rather have a low viral count from natural methods than be undetectable through unnatural toxic methods.
