Its all how people spin. I'm a firm believer in all measures availible to combat

this and guess I'd be on the supplement band wagon as I've not taken any drugs

but have done the 90 supplements a day. Saying no one died from taking

supplements maybe technically true but how many died taking supplements and died

because they refused other treatments? I'm much more interested in the 2 thing I

saw in her this morning I hadn't seen before tmc? And crp54? Sorry can't see the

correct names on my phone but want to study and hear more about them and get off

this debate!

Kind of a broad statement isnt that? I am very interested in the science that

says HIV is a harmless passenger virus, mind you I want the science not

connecting dots. As I try and take all this in it seems to me neither side of

the issue has a firm grasp on whats really going on. Sure the medical community

thinks we are crazy not to take the medication, and there are those on the other

side that say if we do them we are crazy. For my part I do believe people die of

something and you can or cant put a name on it. Labs may or may not mean

anything. Do I know enough to call labs bunk? NO. Do I know good nutrition and

healthy lifestyle makes a difference? Of course! If it comes down to it and I

cant maintain my health on my own, will i take the drugs? You better believe it!

I dont care for post that want me to go pay to watch something. And Im not fond

of absolutes on either side or bashing without supporting facts. Give me the

Hi everyone, I am always late now days with keeping up with messages.  I will

sign in after a few weeks and see almost up to 100 messages, lol.  I had to

respond to this email tho.  As much as I would ever hate to go on HIV meds and

all that, I still can't bring myself to say that HIV is a HARMLESS passenger

virus.  Now you try to tell a bunch of HIVers that this freakin' virus is

harmless and see how many would agree with that.  I, for one since becoming

positive, can definitely feel and see a difference in my health.  To say the

virus is not harmless, is wild thinking.  Remember, the virus affects everyone

differently.  One person may be positive for years and feel just fine meanwhile

another person may be positive for only a few months and be sick as a dog.  No

one reacts the same.  I'm sorry tho, I cannot say in all honesty that HIV is

harmless.  I don't care who or what site says it isn't- I just don't believe

that.  Are there other ways

of dealing with the virus besides antivirals?  Maybe.  I think that's why we're

all here.

OMG Don, you stated this so well.  It's funny cause when I was about 21 yrs

old, I watched a dear friend get sick and die of " AIDS. "  Weird thing is this

is before I knew hardly ANYTHING about HIV/AIDS.  I just knew you caught HIV

from sex at that point.  What I FELT even at that age before I knew anything,

is that my friend was not dying of AIDS, I FELT he was dying because of

" something " (drugs) he was taking.  I just didn't know enough but it was almost

like a strong intuitive feeling.  I then vowed to myself that if I became

positive, that I'd never take those drugs.

I also knew another guy who was really sick for a long time and I remember

seeing an HIV medication bottle beside him once.   " Intuitively, " I FELT that it

was the drugs that were killing him, but I didn't KNOW.  I just wonder where

all those feelings came from.  Was it a 6th sense or what?  I dunno, but I

always felt that.

So Don, your post here touched me because I too here in Atlanta see so many

people who are poz and you'll hear of them talk about their undectable levels,

yet they look scary!  They look like the walking dead!  Yet, here am I, poz 4

years later, and I look just as healthy as ever.  My face is not sunk in ... my

skin is not so dense that it's showing every freakin' vein.  I look healthy and

" normal, " but I bet my numbers are not good and of course I bet my viral load is

not undectable.  I don't care cause you can't pay me to look like some of these

people who have been damaged by those freakin' drugs!  I'd rather go ahead, get

sick, and die (of course would want to be on morphine!).  I know exactly where

you're coming from Don and it's so sad when you see our fellow gay brothers

looking like that.  You and I, Don, as well as others here know that the drugs

can make you look like pure CRAP yet give you excellent NUMBERS!  Do I want to

live looking

like crap as a result of those drugs yet remain alive?  I'm not so sure.

Kind of a broad statement isnt that? I am very interested in the science that

says HIV is a harmless passenger virus, mind you I want the science not

connecting dots. As I try and take all this in it seems to me neither side of

the issue has a firm grasp on whats really going on. Sure the medical community

thinks we are crazy not to take the medication, and there are those on the other

side that say if we do them we are crazy. For my part I do believe people die of

something and you can or cant put a name on it. Labs may or may not mean

anything. Do I know enough to call labs bunk? NO. Do I know good nutrition and

healthy lifestyle makes a difference? Of course! If it comes down to it and I

cant maintain my health on my own, will i take the drugs? You better believe it!

I dont care for post that want me to go pay to watch something. And Im not fond

of absolutes on either side or bashing without supporting facts. Give me the

info, dont tell me what truth is or what to believe We all need to arrive at our

own decisions.

Thanks for speaking from the heart Randall.  I know exactly how you feel as

well.  I'm very good friends with a girl from our local AIDS foundation and I

took them a copy of the book " one minute cure " that changed my life yet she told

me there's nothing that can be done about doing these natural treatments to

patients.  I had a long conversation with her and basically she told me in the

nicest way possible they they keep them alive for as long as they can even

though they are slowly killing them.  I don't go visit AIDS patients anymore. 

It's too painful!  Yet if I'm ever caught preaching what I preach here I'm told

to shut the fuck up!  Or they call me crazy.  I'd rather be crazy than look

(As you stated it) as the walking dead.  I wish I knew what those drugs target

and why they get the numbers they get because everything else is just going to

shit.  One day my friend there will be people thanking us.
