My daughter is almost 9 in Febuary wears a size 1 shoe, I was wondering where

do you all find clothes for your children when they start to outgrow

childrens clothing, she is in a 14-16 girls, and I am wondering where do we

go from here? She is 14-16 and we have to alter the length because she is so

short, half the length they make these pants, who are they making these

clothes for anyway godzilla's kids?LOL I usually have her in sweats as this

is all she will wear due to her waist size and uniform policy at school ,

must be blue and she can get them down easily for potty time I just wish I

could get her into something nice and still comfy for her. Any ideas on where

to find nice clothes still comffy and size appropriate? Thanks I would

appreciate any leads on this one!! nettie619

Ted is 10 and it seems like forever that he has grown out of the 8-20 size

in the kids departments! I shop adult mens and alter them. Starting in K,

I made a vow to myself that Ted would not wear sweats. He will not wear

zipper, buttons, snaps, tags, decal type material on clothes or any other

deviation. hehe...I taper the legs and nearly chop the clothing in half!

LOL Ted also has a very long torso so that the measurement from waist to

crotch is nearly as long as the little legs! At least with girls they can

wear leggings/stretch pants or skirts and dresses.

I recommend shopping in the petite dept. of the nicer stores. You can often

find good sales in petites. Now if they would just make petites for men our

guys would have it made.

Kohl's has a nice petite dept.

I have found a great solution for this myself. My daughter is the same size

and a 14-16 in girls is between a 5-6 in misses. So I started buying them

Capri paints they fit her in the length perfect because they are made to fit

a regular sized women above the ankle or higher. It may take a few try on's

to find the right size for her. But it is worth it that is for sure....

Good luck!

Stacie.

No No Gail, older sisters ban leggings/stretch pants to school in about 4th

or 5th grade. They say you don't want to look like a dork. So wears

blue jeans. :-) Her aide has to help with the button and zipper.

Womens, right. LOL Because there's no way that could wear a 5-6 like

her sister does. the waist would be way to small.

Hey,

I just thought of something! Stretch pants are banned at about 4th grade,

but whats really cool now is sports pants and most of them come with a

drawstring waist. ya know the ones that have like a stripe down the side of

the leg? All of the cool 5th graders here wear them, including amanda!

A very definate option for those hard to fit girls and boys alike!

Now my brain is working!

Ok,

I ordered a pair of the 14 1/2 pants from Lands End. Except for the

length they fit great.

She does have pants in 1/2 sizes from walmart and Old Navy but there has

always been the gaping waist band thing. These have the snap (really easy to

snap to, it might be time to really work on snaps with there the others were

really hard to do) zipper and elastic in the waist band. I'd say if you're

looking for something in this size for blue jeans order a pair and check it

out. I might even order a size 12 1/2 to see if they fit. hehe. Oh and I

think I saw some of these listed on the overstock/clearance page. so if you

want to try these for you hard to fit kid go to

www.landsend.com
