My husband is one of two boys, no girls. is 10, and he still is

amazed that girls get dirty. He thinks they should be neatly dressed and

play tea party all the time. You should have seen his face last week when

and had been playing " monster mountain " with the kids next door

on a pile of red clay. It took him several days to get over that - lol!

Mom to (10, DS) and (6) - both of whom do not like hair bows,

ribbons, barrettes or headbands, and we have a drawer full.....

Isn't is amazing how some kids, not particularly with DS, can stand

in

the middle of a clean room and get dirty? I've known a few like that and

can

never figure it out. They must be magnetic or something. Jessie

BJ's first haircut was a #2 , now he he gets a #4. He also has a swirl at the

top of his head, the hair literally grows

in a circle-and his hair also grows up right at the bottom-he looks much better

with short hair. He also won't let me

brush or wash it, so it stays short until he is old enough to make his own

decision. We have clippers, and we take him

to the hair dresser every 2nd hair cut. BJ HATES getting his hair cut, I think

the neighbors nearly called DOCS ( dept.

of Children's Services here in Oz) as he wouldn't stop screaming.

BJ has allot of hand me down clothes. I try to make him look cute, I guess I

never really thought about it much. I try

to keep his nose clean, not always possible, and with a sister in-law like

mine, who chases him to clean it , I try

not to make a huge deal of it. We get brands here in Oz, but I think because we

have school uniforms, it isn't so much

of a discrimination thing. I never got hassled growing up for not wearing name

brands. Having said that, some of my

sister in laws ( I have 5) do buy brand names, and some of them are bigger, and

do last longer than some of the others,

esp when you have to soak them all the time.
