Lovely Heidi! I love seeing photos! The graphics are very pretty, too. I

had a prenatal diagnosis, too. I think you handled it very well in relating

's birth story. I tell everyone that I knew ahead of time also when

discussing DS, because there are too many people around like the doctor who

gave you the news.

What a great site. The graphics are really nice, and the content both fun

and informative. I loved looking at the photos of your family, and got a

smile out of the NASCAR icons with (I assume) everyone's favorite driver? I

kept getting a window popping up about installing " Comet Cursor " or

something like that.... is that supposed to happen? I also thought the DS

sections were very well done, particularly regarding your prenatal

diagnosis. We didn't know prenatally, and in many ways I am thankful

because for us, knowing wouldn't have changed the outcome, and just been

stressful for us. However, I had an interesting moment a few hours after

's birth, then again the next day. The nurse-midwife who delivered

was trying to be very positive, telling me we should " just take

her home " , or something like that. Being that I just wanted to get out of

the hospital and my shared room (nothing like getting the diagnosis with

only a curtain between you and your neighbor), it didn't dawn on me until

weeks later that she was suggesting we take home, as opposed to

what, leaving here there? It was too awful to think about, but I'm sure it

happens. But why she would ASSUME that we wouldn't take her with us is

beyond me.... obviously we were shocked at first, but we loved her from the

second she entered the world, and I don't think we were sending any other

messages. She had no health problems except for a little jaunice, so I

expected we both would be discharged in the typical (at that time) 24 hours.

I wonder what HER real thoughts were though, maybe she was projecting her

thoughts of leaving a " chromosomally challenged " :-) baby. Don't know, and

we didn't go back to that OB the next time to find out more.

Heidi, can you tell me, about how much time does it take to set up a family

website, and how does one go about learning how to do it? I would love to

do this for our family, as we have many geographically distant relatives who

would get a kick out of seeing the kids more often.

Thanks,
